Member Spotlight: Shannon (and Karen!) Joyce

One year ago this August, Shannon Joyce walked through our doors for the first time, and she didn't come alone. She brought her mom, Karen, and the two of them have been showing up together ever since: Shannon as a regular, and Karen whenever she's in town visiting.

What makes their story even sweeter is that Shannon and Karen hold a very special place in Eastern Shore Core history. They were the very first movers at our Salisbury studio, coming in for a private duet session before the doors even officially opened.

Shannon found Eastern Shore Core the way the best things tend to happen: the location was right, the environment felt welcoming, and Pilates had already caught her attention. Reformer Pilates quickly became her favorite. She describes it as "a balance of strength, stability, and spice while maintaining Pilates principles," and honestly, we couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Over the past year, Shannon says her practice has given her more than physical strength. It's deepened her connection to her mind and body and brought her into a community she genuinely looks forward to. What keeps her coming back? The instructors, the variety, and that same welcoming energy she felt on day one, the same energy she experienced before anyone else did.

After class, you'll find her hydrating and soaking in the reset a good session brings. And if Eastern Shore Core ever goes on a retreat, Shannon's vote is Bali, somewhere near the water, naturally.

Here's to one year, Shannon and Karen. We're so glad you both walked in first!
